Friday, October 24, 2008 - Christina Aguilera keeps getting better...

Fast forward to 2008 and Aguilera, now a married mother of one, embarks on the comeback trail with a fresh new sound (in her case) and a song destined for both the dancefloor and the upper echelons of the charts.
Genie Targets Dancefloor
“Keeps Getting Better” borrows heavily from Goldfrapp’s giant dancefloor smash “Ooh La La” - all that’s missing is Alison’s cooing. The songs sound so similar that it’s more of an “Ooh La La – part deux” than an original single.
Unlike past tracks where Aguilera practiced vocal gymnastics to nauseating effects, she keeps a rather low profile on this single. Singing it steadily and strongly, she allows her pipes to emerge without over emphasizing.
Composed by Aguilera and Linda Perry, who also wrote such hits as “Beautiful”, “Hurt” and “Candyman”, “Keeps Getting Better” showcases very different sides of this young diva.
Everywoman lyrics such as “Some days I’m a super bitch / Up to my old tricks / But it won’t last forever / Next day I’m your super girl / Out to save the world / And it keeps gettin’ better”, stresses that Aguilera’s many influences and musical directions, aim to break her out of the teen pop mould she cast herself in with her first two albums.
Keeps Getting Better – A Decade of Hits
“Keeps Getting’ Better” is taken from Aguilera’s greatest hits package Keeps Getting’ Better – A Decade of Hits sold exclusively through Target chain stores in the United States. The collection also includes unreleased track “Dynamite” and re-recorded versions of “Genie in a Bottle” and “Beautiful” exclusive to this package.
Keeps Getting’ Better – A Decade of Hits is released on November 11, 2008. “Keeps Getting’ Better” is now available as a digital download at iTunes store.
Keeps Getting Better - Video
Here are some behind the scenes pictures of Christina’s shoot for “Keeps Gettin’ Better” music video. The song is the first single off her upcoming greatest hits album Keeps Gettin’ Better - A Decade of Hits.
The director for the music video was Peter Berg, the same director of the movie Han****, which starred Will Smith.
The video is scheduled to premiere the day before Halloween, October 30th.
