Friday, May 16, 2008 - MC2 = Mrs. Cannon + Mr. Cannon

Welcome to the world of pink sunsets, 30 thousand dollar gowns, bottles of Crystal and exotic island getaways where a rich woman marries a young handsome stud.... No, this is not the plot of the next Daniel Steel bestseller nor is this an upcoming Lifetime TV movie!  You are still reading this week's MUSIC TALK column where I'll give you the low-down on Miss Buddafly's or more like Mrs. Cannon's latest wedding disaster.

So, what can be said about the whirlwind romance and surprise wedding of Mariah and Nick Cannon that hasn't been said already???

Well, not much. Why? Because even though both of them stated it many times that their union is not a "publicity stunt" , they still sold their exclusives to People and In Touch magazine... not to mention the special Mariah gave on the Ellen DeGeneres' 50th birthday bash show... well, as long as they wanna keep it "private"... right?

Host Ellen DeGeneres then held up photos of the pair's tattoos: Cannon's is a large "Mariah" across his back, while hers is a small butterfly on her lower back that incorporates the letters "MC" - which she said stood for "Mrs. Cannon," but DeGeneres quickly pointed out could also simply stand for the singer's initials, if the marriage doesn't work out.

"That's so mean, Ellen!" Carey said.   (Honestly, I think it is dead on! 2 kudos for you Ellen!!!)

The Touch My Body singer also told Ellen that she and her new husband, Nick Cannon, plan to tie the knot annually. Mariah said: "Nick's plan is to have one wedding every year. I think instead of trying to be like, 'You're invited, but shhh, don't tell anybody', we're just going to have another wedding next year."

So, her wedding might happen every year, but still no word of a honeymoon... However, the newlyweds are planning a big blowout tonight, according to a source of E! News.

The two lovebirds are renting all of Six Flags  Magic Mountain theme park for a private party. All the roller coasters you can ride until you throw up...sounds romantic! Guess these two really are "eternally 12 years old" after all...

What's next? Who knows... maybe a baby or maybe another surprise announcement... either way, I'm trying not to pass out of excitement... as I'm sleeping and typing...
